The fourth day of the Polo Rider Cup 2021 on June 13 featured three games between Deauville International Polo Club against Las Brisas Polo Club of Chicago, La Aguada Polo Club facing Evviva Polo St. Moritz, and Dos Lunas Polo Club playing with Empire Polo Club of Coachella Valley.
In the opening match of the tournament, Deauville International Polo Club, with Ulysse Eisenchteter (0), Patrick Eisenchteter (1), Pierre-Henri N’Goumou (6), and Juan José Storni (5), defeated Las Brisas Polo Club of Chicago, with Larry Aschebrook (0), Lukas Sdrenka (2), Juan Martin Obregon (6), and Matias Obregon (4), by 10 to 3 goals. In the third chukker, we witnessed two sensational goals, one from Juan José that scored the 5-1 with a broken mallet. Afterwards, Pierre-Henri scored the 6-1 from end to end.
Evviva Polo St. Moritz, comprised of Andreas Bihrer (0), Lucas Labat (5), Martin Aguerre (7), and Tommy Rinderknecht (0), won the game against La Aguada Polo Club, with Sébastien Schneberger (0), Max Bosch (3), Valentín Novillo Astrada (6), and Moritz Gaedeke (3), by 7 to 6 goals. It was one of the closest games we saw since the tournament started. The second game of the day was decided in the overtime as the fifth chukker ended 6-6. In the last seconds of the last chukker, Martin was very close in sealing the win for his team, but missed it and forced an extra chukker. Andreas, who played today in place of Piero Dillier, scored the winning goal.
The closing game of the day was won by Empire Polo Club Coachella Valley, composed of Clément Smith (0), Guillermo Li (4), Tito Ruiz Guiñazu (7), and Derek Smith (1). They beat Dos Lunas Polo Club, with Juan Pepa (1), Jorge Pepa (3), Patricio Cieza (6), and Paul Grabosch (2), by 7 to 5. The first chukkers were balanced between both teams. But from the fourth chukker, Tito Ruiz extended the lead with two goals and Dos Lunas could not shorten the gap in the final chukker.
