The first-ever POLO Rider Cup, a 10-day international competition that brings together the best polo clubs worldwide, is happening on June 10 to 20, 2021. With a selection of 16 clubs competing for the final win, this event hosted by the Polo Club of Chantilly, north of Paris, is a must-see event for every polo enthusiast.
One of the contenders for the POLO Rider Cup is Hamburger Polo Club, the first to confirm their participation in this first edition.
“We are very honored to have been invited to participate in this high class, pan-European tournament to represent Hamburg. The club has been hosting countless events and international teams for over 100 years. Our founders would certainly be very proud to see our team, four genuine ‘Hamburger Jungs,’ competing in a 12-goal tournament—the POLO Rider Cup in Chantilly!” Caspar Crasemann, the Captain of the Hamburger Polo Club, comments.
The POLO Rider Cup trophy was unveiled to the public last November—a Medicis vase with two gryphon-shaped handles made in the early 2000s by master goldsmith Eric Mellerio, creator of prestigious trophies such as the Ballon d’Or, Roland Garros, and the Cravache d’Or.
For those interested to see the matches but are unable to attend the competition on location, you may catch its live broadcast via Horse & Country, the leading equestrian sports and lifestyle network.
Horse & Country will stream all 20 games live on their worldwide streaming service, H&C+. Subsequently, the 52-minute highlights program will be available On Demand and be broadcasted on Horse & Country’s channel.
